KRISTIE VOTH | Assistant Director

Kristie head shot.jpg

Kristie is a small-town girl from the prairies who felt the call of God (and the mountains) to move west. While at Bible College she said she would never work with youth. Since then, Kristie has spent the majority of her time working with youth and young adults while sailing the Georgia Strait, trekking in the Himalayas, serving in downtown Calgary, hanging out at camp in (rattle-snake-infested) Osoyoos, and chatting for hours over tea and Skipbo. She’s learned to never say never because God loves to surprise us for our joy and His glory.

Kristie loves connecting with friends of all ages, exploring the outdoors, and locking eyes with Jesus. She is honoured to join the Lifeteams crew in mentoring and equipping young leaders to lean into their God-given purpose as they learn to love youth towards Jesus.

JEN HUBBARD | Academic Coordinator

Jen has been a staff member with Youth for Christ for 16 years. She has been involved in drop-in and school ministries with both junior and senior high school students during that time, as well as in a church partnership. Jen has a BA in English Literature from Trinity Western University. She supervises the academic portion of our training, marking assignments and supporting students to succeed academically. She also mentors female students. Jen has been married to Andrew for 13 years, and is mom to Ben (10), Keegan (8) and Nate (6).

Laura is a Lifeteams alumni from 2011. After graduation she went on staff with Vancouver Youth Unlimited, overseeing work with street-involved young people in the downtown Eastside of Vancouver. Laura is our newest staff member, joining us in 2017. She has a diploma in Counselling and is a gifted people helper. Laura mentors female students and leads the hands-on portion of our People Helping course. She is married to Sergio, who is also a Lifeteams grad.

CARISSA PLETT | Spiritual Development Coordinator

Carissa began her youth work career in 2004 as a church youth leader and made the switch into community youth work in 2011. Regardless of her roles and titles, spiritual mentoring has always been at the foundation of her ministry. In addition to her role with Lifeteams, she serves on YFC Canada's People Development Team, supporting the spiritual growth and resiliency of youth workers across Canada. After being connected to the Lifeteams family for several years as a guest instructor, Carissa became the primary instructor of the Ministry & Spirituality course in 2019. She holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Portland Seminary of George Fox University.

Amanda’s husband Dan and their four boys have all been volunteers with Lifeteams over the years and are a part of the Lifeteams family.
