ROB SNAIR | Director
Rob has been on staff with Greater Vancouver YFC/Youth Unlimited for 19 years. He and his wife Iona developed and direct the Lifeteams program. Before Lifeteams, Rob worked as a high school Drug and Alcohol Prevention Counsellor for 7 years. He also has experience in group homes, drop-in centres and as a youth and family counsellor. He is a certified mentor through Coach-net International and oversees Lifeteam’s youth work placements, guides all out-trips and mission trips, and mentors the men in the program.
Rob has a Masters in Counselling from Trinity Western University and B.A. in Christian Education from Briercrest Bible College. He and Iona have been married for 27 years and have two boys – Eli (21) and Sasha (18).
IONA SNAIR | Associate Director/Guest Instructor
Iona has been involved with youth work for over 30 years. She has worked as a group home staff, drop-in centre director, foster parent, probation counsellor, youth services coordinator, and young adult pastor. Over the past 20 years she has been a youth work instructor, first at the University of the Fraser Valley, then at Columbia Bible College and now at Lifeteams.
At Lifeteams, Iona is a guest instructor and works with the staff team to plan and develop the Lifeteams curriculum. She is the head of Lifeteams Resources, training youth workers and volunteers locally and nationally through seminars and the development of tools and resources. She has a M.A. in Christian Studies from Regent College and a BA in Social Development from University of Waterloo.
BRIAN BROWN | Program Coordinator
Brian has been a staff member with Youth for Christ for the past 30 years. His ministry spans from running high school clubs, music/drama teams and mission ventures to overseeing church/YFC partnerships, training youth leaders and equipping parents. He has a Bachelor of Theology and a Bachelor of Christian Education from Emmanuel Bible College, as well as a Masters of Religious Education from Trinity Western University. As the Program Coordinator, Brian oversees the schedule for the year as well as instructing a variety of classes.
Brian has been married to Betty for 33 years and has two adult children, Alissa and Shauna. Betty oversees food services for the Lifeteams students and makes the house smell great!
JEN HUBBARD | Academic Coordinator
Jen has been a staff member with Youth for Christ for 16 years. She has been involved in drop-in and school ministries with both junior and senior high school students during that time, as well as in a church partnership. Jen has a BA in English Literature from Trinity Western University. She supervises the academic portion of our training, marking assignments and supporting students to succeed academically. She also mentors female students. Jen has been married to Andrew for 13 years, and is mom to Ben (10), Keegan (8) and Nate (6).
LAURA PETRILLO | Mentor
Laura is a Lifeteams alumni from 2011. After graduation she went on staff with Vancouver Youth Unlimited, overseeing work with street-involved young people in the downtown Eastside of Vancouver. Laura is our newest staff member, joining us in 2017. She has a diploma in Counselling and is a gifted people helper. Laura mentors female students and leads the hands-on portion of our People Helping course. She has been married to Sergio, who is also a Lifeteams grad, for 3 years.
CARISSA PLETT | Spiritual Development Coordinator
Carissa began her youth work career 15 years ago as a church youth leader and made the switch into community youth work in 2011. Regardless of her roles and titles, spiritual mentoring has always been at the foundation of her ministry. In addition to her role with Lifeteams, she serves on YFC Canada's People Development Team, supporting the spiritual growth and resiliency of youth workers across Canada. After being connected to the Lifeteams family for several years as a guest instructor, Carissa became the primary instructor of the Ministry & Spirituality course in 2019. She holds a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Portland Seminary of George Fox University.
