THE PEOPLE HELPING COURSE
The People Helping Course provides youth workers and volunteers with a 4 session overview of basic counselling know-how. We’ll guide you toward creating spaces where youth will feel heard and cared for, as you stretch your listening and responding skills.

TRAINING TOPICS
We know you want to care well for the youth you work with. But how do you grow the skills needed for helping teens through life’s difficulties and frustrations? This course will help you develop listening and supporting skills, allowing you to be truly helpful to teens--but also to the friends and family around us. Most youth workers aren’t trained counselors, but The People Helping Course will guide you in creating environments around people that invite and encourage growth, opening up the way for God to move in both their lives and ours.

“Self-initiated training often takes a back seat in the hustle and bustle of life and ministry, but signing up for this course made it easy to have it scheduled and planned out, I just had to show up ready to learn and grow. This course is a must for all newer staff. Hardcore, straight to the issues, being trained well on the job. A great way to learn and put into practice right from the get go.”

As a coordinator within the agency, I am always looking for meaningful ways to better equip our volunteer mentors so they stay informed about youth trends and feel confident and supported in their roles. Lifeteams has been exceptional in helping us achieve this. They consistently provide engaging, high-quality training led by knowledgeable and experienced facilitators, particularly in trauma-informed practice and suicide intervention. We have truly appreciated our partnership with Lifeteams.
